This drama series is based on Yugo Aosaki’s acclaimed novel Glico with Landmines, which made history by sweeping an unprecedented total of nine major mystery awards in Japan. Co-starring Nana Mori and Aju Makita, the series is directed by Kazuaki Seki (Kakukakushikajika, Beethoven Forgery, and iconic music videos for Perfume and Sakanaction), a visual auteur renowned for blending pop, stylish visual aesthetics with intricately calculated storytelling.

Today, the eagerly awaited teaser trailer has been unveiled. The teaser captures thrilling moments as universally known games evolve into unpredictable mind games. Showcasing Director Seki’s signature visual flair seamlessly fused with an intense battle of wits, the teaser builds tremendous anticipation for the fierce psychological warfare about to unfold.

The newly released teaser highlights Mato Imoriya (played by Nana Mori), a natural gambler, as she takes on her first match in "Landmine Glico," alongside her best friend Kazahi Koda (played by Aju Makita), who stands by her side. By adding a "landmine" rule to the classic game—where stepping on a mine sends a player back 10 steps—the difficulty and strategic depth escalate dramatically. Joining the game at the request of Kazahi, Mato soon finds herself facing a succession of eccentric games and formidable rivals.

From "Bozu Seijaku" (combining traditional Hyakunin Isshu card-matching with Memory) and "Free-Verse Rock-Paper-Scissors" (adding original custom moves to standard gestures), to "Daruma Has Counted" (a psychological mind game based on "Red Light, Green Light") and "Four-Room Poker" (adding a special rule where players move between four rooms), familiar pastimes are transformed into the ultimate battles of strategy. Mato, a seemingly carefree yet brilliant blonde high school girl, and Kazahi, her caring best friend, see their ordinary school lives upended as they plunge into a "non-lethal death game" where what matters most to them is put on the line.
