Otaki joined Horipro in 2007 and spent eight years working in talent management. In 2015, he joined WOWOW, where he focused primarily on film production while also helping establish the company’s theatrical distribution business from 2019 onward. In addition to producing films, he oversaw a diverse slate of theatrical releases, including feature adaptations of the Drama W series, music ODS (Other Digital Stuff) productions, and animated films.
His major producing credits include My Friend “A” (2018), Akira and Akira (2022), The Sun Stands Still (2021), Golden Kamuy (2024), Missing (2024), and Dear Family (2024).
