The Netflix series "Yu Yu Hakusho" has become the biggest global hit ever for a series from Japan and has swept the world in the first week since its global release on December 14. Not only did it debut at No. 1 in the Netflix Weekly Global Top 10 (non-English series), the eagerly anticipated new series debuted at the top of the Non-English series list with 7.7M views and comes #2 in the English and non-English series categories combined, making the biggest launch of a Japanese series ever. In addition, the series has been ranked in the "Today's Series Top 10" in 92 countries and regions around the world, including Japan, the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Brazil, India, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The streaming for the premiere event was watched by 14,000 people at the same time, and the number of views exceeded 4 million (as of Dec 19), making it the most viewed live event in the history of Netflix Japan's event live distribution. The trend of Yu Yu Hakusho is expected to become even bigger worldwide toward the end of the year and the beginning of the new year.
