Since the initial announcement of its live-action adaptation on August 21, the project has generated immense excitement among original manga fans and international audiences alike. The newly released super teaser captures two grand worlds—the past life on the moon base and the present life on Earth—blending breathtaking visual beauty with a haunting, mysterious atmosphere.

The series is based on Saki Hiwatari’s legendary manga Please Save My Earth (Boku no Chikyu wo Mamotte, affectionately known as Bokutama), which was serialized in Hana to Yume (Hakusensha) from 1986 to 1994. It is a poignant, grand reincarnation sci-fi romance depicting high school students entangled in the memories, love, and agonizing conflicts of their past lives. The story continues today with its third installment, I Sing with the Earth (Boku wa Chikyu to Utau), currently serialized in Melody (Hakusensha). With cumulative series sales exceeding 16 million copies, the franchise celebrates its 40th anniversary as a timeless masterpiece beloved by generations of fans.
Starring in the pivotal role of Mokuren for this historic live-action adaptation is Alice Hirose, a highly acclaimed actress known for her extraordinary presence across genres in hits such as Laughing Lucky (Warotenka, 2017), 366 Days (366 Nichi, 2024), and the Okura: Unsolved Cases Unit (Zenryoiki Ijou Kaiketsushitsu) series. Directing the project is Takahiro Miki, a master filmmaker celebrated for his luminous, deeply emotional visual storytelling in works like It’s Okay, Farewell (Hodonaku, Owakare desu, 2026), Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight (2022), and My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday (2016).
Furthermore, the daunting task of bringing the "unfilmable" moon base and grand outer space visuals to life is led by THE SEVEN, winner of the Grand Prix in the VFX category at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA). Utilizing cutting-edge, global-standard VFX technology, THE SEVEN renders supernatural powers and the visions of the moon base on screen with unprecedented realism and scale.

The newly released super teaser opens with a vivid aerial shot of Tokyo Tower transitioning into lush, vibrant imagery of Earth’s flora and trees. However, accompanied by the cold ticking of a clock, the verdant scenery quietly shifts toward the quiet, somber world of the moon base.
Past life and present life, the moon and the Earth—. Standing amid the deep silence of the moon base is the solitary silhouette of Mokuren, played by Alice Hirose. What truly happened on the moon base in their past lives? What did Mokuren witness, and what profound emotions did she harbor?
